James Howard is a Jaadwa songwriter and sound artist living on the lands of the Kulin Nations. His lyrics speak to Country, his ancestors, identity, and the absurdist tendencies of the settler colony. The accompanying music harkens back to simpler times. Previous work includes composing, and performing at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2018 and 2019; composing for YIRRAMBOI’s Resilience in Isolation program in 2020; and the release of his first collection of songs, GPWM.
Playing as part of the Acland Street Pop-Up series, this performance will take place from 12:30pm at the Barkly Street end of Acland Plaza, St Kilda.
